An easy method to get started is to find a quiet space and focus on your breathing.       <image:caption>When you are dealing with anxiety it can help to have a few different skills you can use to manage your symptoms. You may have a favorite technique that you regularly turn to or you may find that on different days you need different techniques. Journaling, doing art, talking to friends or family, and taking a walk can all be helpful to help you to feel better. You may even find other things that help you to manage and process your anxiety. Try a few things out, test them for a few weeks, then decide if it has been helping you and whether you want to continue to use the skill.       <image:title>Blog - Being in the moment - Our modern life is very busy, we are constantly doing things, checking the internet, on social media, and the list goes on. It is good for us to give our mind a break from all the busyness to take time to just be in the moment. To help you do this it can be helpful to focus on what you are sensing. Look around you, take a minute to note of everything you can see around you. Then take time to listen, noting all the sounds. Take a deep breath, what can you smell. What can you feel, is it hot, cold, windy, are there any other sensations? Taking the time to notice all these things is a break in itself but will also help you to build your observation skills as we tend to look past many of the things around us.</image:title>

When you don’t notice your food it is harder to enjoy your food. Next time you eat take time to really look at your food, noticing all the colors and variety, take a deep breath to smell the delicious scents. When you take a bite let it sit on your tongue to notice the textures, flavors, noticing the textures and sounds as you chew. Take time to pause between bites to notice how you are feeling, and again observing your food.</image:title>
